We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Practitioner in the Lung Function Unit at Cambridge University Hospitals NHSFT. The department is situated within a state of the art unit on two separate sites and provides a diagnostic service to most specialities within the hospital. As Associate Practitioner you will be required to assess the lung function of patients referred to the laboratory by conducting and reporting appropriate tests accurately, professionally and in accordance with the Association for Respiratory Technology & Physiology (ARTP)/European Respiratory Society (ERS) guidelines.
It is the intention that if you do not hold the requisite qualifications to successfully apply to be listed on the Academy of Healthcare Science assured voluntary register, you will at some point during your role, complete the BSc (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship in Respiratory and Sleep Physiology Level 6 over a 3 year timeframe. Main duties of the job
You will also be expected to undertake the ARTP Practitioner qualification. There will then be the opportunity to progress to a Band 5 Clinical Respiratory Physiologist position upon successful completion of the BSc programme and completion of the ARTP Practitioner qualification.We are co-located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with Royal Papworth Hospital and there will be an expectation of some cross-site working between the two services, with potential for supporting the Heart and Lung Research Institute.Once established within the role there will be an expectation for you to be involved in respiratory research, both commercial and non-commercial, which is continually undertaken within the department. We are currently a clinical excellence site for a number of commercial research trials.We have a fantastic group of respiratory physiologists in the department and we invite you to join this dynamic and ever excelling IQIPS accredited team.

- 96 UCAS points from three A levels (including 32 points in biology). The study of chemistry is useful, but not essential. We do not accept general studies
