Job summary
A fantastic Band 5 Dietitian opportunity has become available in a fast paced, busy acute hospital in the beautiful city of Cambridge. As one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, Addenbrooke's Hospital acts as both a regional and national specialist centre for various medical conditions, with our department of over 90 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and Administrative staff playing a vital role in a number of these across the Trust.
As part of this post, you will be one of up to nine Band 5 Dietitians and will have the opportunity to manage both an inpatient and outpatient caseload. You will be working within one of our adult specialist teams within the department, with support from Band 6 and Band 7 Dietitians to help develop your skills. The teams that you may be part of include:
- Oncology
- Neuro and Critical Care
- Gastroenterology, Renal and Hepatology
- MODEL (Metabolics, Obesity, Diabetes, Endocrinology and Lipids)
- Paediatrics
This post would be ideal for both newly qualified Dietitians looking for their first post and experienced Band 5 Dietitians seeking for a new challenge in a tertiary hospital. We also encourage applications from current final year Dietetics students who are looking for a post after they have graduated.
This post is based entirely on-site at Addenbrooke's Hospital and does not have the opportunity to work from home due to the acute nature of the role.
Main duties of the job
To act as part of the Dietetic Team and in conjunction with the specialist team to provide dietetic services to a variety of general and more specialised patients at Addenbrooke's and other external Units / agencies as appropriate.
To work within a multi-professional framework and contribute to a first-class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.
To set and work towards individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.
