Job summary

Our busy Pharmacy Sterile Production unit is looking for people who want to try something new and challenging while learning new skills and knowledge. If this sounds like something that interests you then read on!

The Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit produces a range of sterile injectable medicines for our patients including; Chemotherapy, Parenteral Nutrition, Eye Drops and Clinical Trial Medications.

We are looking for people who have the enthusiasm to learn new skills and want to be part of a team that make a difference to patient's treatment and outcomes.

We are a diverse and friendly team with a shared common goal of providing life saving sterile medications for patients across the whole trust.

Main duties of the job

The role of Assistant Technical Officer works alongside Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists to provide essential services for our patients.

The role requires good attention to detail, good numeracy skills and a high degree of manual dexterity.

Once trained you will be involved with making sterile products in our Clean Rooms as well assisting with preparation of raw materials, components and necessary documentation.

You will maintain a clean and tidy work environment and assist with specialist cleaning in our Clean Room Facilities. Maintaining stock levels by ensuring ordering is done in timely manner.

The post also involves delivering our products to the wards and clinical areas in a timely manner.
