Job summary

Our Cancer Directorate is inviting applications from ambitious experienced Nurses who are interested to enhance their experience, to join the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists in Urology. This job is to support Bladder cancer diagnostics, treatment follow up Nurse lead services and enhanced recovery.

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team that provides surgical oncology treatment to people with bladder cancer. You will be influencing the care that they receive attending clinics and have a vital role in support enhanced recovery programme in bladder cancer treatment pathway, developing and undertaking Nurse led bladder cancer treatment and follow up clinics. You will be working closely with medical team and involved in service development.

You will demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of Bladder cancer care and/or in enhanced recovery programme. You will demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment,urostomy care and be able to have skilled and sensitive conversations. You will provide clinical leadership, influencing others to provide the highest levels of safe and effective care and a positive patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a recognised expert in the specialty, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and undertaking specialist nursing procedures and supporting enhanced recovery in bladder cancer pathway.

Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff. This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students

Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based nurse-led care

Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area.

Require to run nurse-led treatment and follow up clinics in bladder cancer pathway.
