Job summary

An exciting 18 month fixed term/ secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to lead the Stroke service nursing team as Matron within the Directorate of Neuroscience in Division D, Addenbrooke's Hospital.

R2 - An acute ward with 10 monitored beds and 4 Hyper Acute Stroke beds. Lewin Ward - comprising 26 step down rehab beds As a Matron you have key responsibility to ensure that patients receive high quality, safe nursing care within the Stroke Unit by providing compassionate leadership and support to the Ward Managers and nursing teams in line with the Trust's vision, strategies and values. Effective communication, a strong collaborative approach and ability to engage the nursing workforce and multidisciplinary team within an ever changing and challenging environment is essential. You will provide leadership, managerial and governance support, training and education and form part of the wider clinical leaders peer group across the Trust. You will require strong leadership skills, being a motivated, experienced nurse who is able to make a positive difference to your teams. The ability to quickly build strong working relationships with the Stroke MDT and within the divisional Matron group will be essential to take our demanding agenda forward. Main duties of the job

Providing clinical leadership and professional support to all nursing and wider team of staff. Ensuring high quality, safe patient care is delivered by an appropriately skilled and educated workforce, through effective leadership by setting standards and performance monitoring of those standards. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure a high standard of quality care delivery including - safety, effectiveness and patient experience, learning from feedback and patient and public involvement strategies.
