Job summary
Based at the Cambridge Dialysis Centre the Renal Counsellor role is recognised as an expert psychotherapeutic practitioner.
Working two days per week between Wednesday and Friday you will work in a team with two other Renal Cousellors and a Renal Social Care Practitioner.
Working at part of the multi-disciplinary team you will provide a provide a range of short, medium and long-term counselling for Renal patients.
Main duties of the job
You will respond to referrals, assessing need and risk for each patients and tailor the care for your patients.
You will work face to face and via telephone and video clinics.
Working with individuals and families you will plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate care needs that may be complex and change.
You will use a range of specific psychological interventions which may include counselling, problem solving, stress and anxiety management, trauma work, solution focused therapy and group work.
