An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Clinical Engineering Maintenance Technician to join the Medical Electronics team in our Clinical Engineering Department.Clinical Engineering is primarily concerned with providing repair, calibration and maintenance to a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment in the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is the responsibility of Clinical Engineering to ensure equipment operates effectively and safely with a minimum of downtime. Clinical equipment covered incorporates electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer software and medical gas systems.This post is one of a number within the Medical Electronics Section of Clinical Engineering.The Medical Electronics Section provides servicing and repair support to varied patient support equipment.
Main duties of the job
You will work in a busy team carrying out planned maintenance in both workshop and clinical environments. This role is predominately planned maintenance of devices throughout the trust. The department works to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 quality standards and is responsible for the management of approximately 60,000 medical devices used across the hospital and in the community throughout East Anglia.Under supervision you will carry out electrical safety testing and routine maintenance on medical equipment in order to maintain standards and service delivery.You will be required to work to extremely high standards of workmanship, safety and accountability within a quality management system.You will liaise with clinical and technical staff to help identify faults, including working in all clinical areas and with manufacturers.
