Job summary

Applications are invited for a LTFT (8PA) Consultant in Haematology to be placed in the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Applicants should have competence in reporting bone marrow morphology and experience of other multimodality haematopathology testing including molecular assays, preferably within a Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS) or equivalent.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Haematology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

About us

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). HODS is a UKAS-accredited SIHMDS which acts as the primary referral centre in East Anglia for patients with known or suspected haematological malignancies. The service works closely with the East Genomic Laboratory Hub on site at Cambridge University Hospitals.
