Job summary

- An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team! You will be responsible for implementing safe and effective care for patients within the department, working alongside Interventional Radiology Consultants assisting with procedures as Scrub Nurses, the monitoring of patients during procedures and recovery and also work with other Health Care Professionals within Imaging.

It is essential that you are able to work well as a member of a multidisciplinary team and possess good verbal and written communication skills. You must also be able to evidence a commitment to your own professional development.

A working knowledge of Radiology would be an advantage but not essential

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00 with a structured on call commitment covering emergency cases and Thrombectomy (Stroke Patients).

Main duties of the job

Responsible for implementing safe and effective care for patients within the department. Including scrub skills, monitoring of patients during procedures and recovery skills.

Perform role of Scrub Nurse for a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures within the department.

Perform role of circulating Nurse for a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures within the angio suites.

Using clinical knowledge/experience liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of patient-centred care incorporating the latest experience-based practice.

Prepare equipment for interventional cases maintaining asepsis.

To maintain competence in the essential skills required for delivering care within the clinical area.
