Job summary

Unique opportunity to build on the established Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) work of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), and head up the communications agenda for the new Cambridge based international HealthTech Research Centre in Brain and Spine Injury.

Main duties of the job

You will lead communication and dissemination across the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre for Brain Injury, cultivating and managing external relationships with key stakeholders including commissioners and PPIE networks. TYou will be responsible for horizon scanning, carrying out unmet need assessments, support of the Technology Assessment Programme and industry liaison, and spearhead a network of brain injury public contributors.

  • Substantial experience of media relations - both proactive and reactive.
  • Experience of devising, implementing and evaluating effective communications and engagement plans and the ability to identify the right channel for a particular audience .
