Staff Bank Services is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual who is looking for a new opportunity. This individual will have the chance to work as a locum researcher in the prestigious Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a significant impact in the field of bone research and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge. The locum researcher will play a crucial role in the Bone Research and Clinical Rheumatology team, focusing on the histology of bone and specifically renal bone disorders.

Main duties of the job

To provide a histological analysis service for bone samples at CUHNFT

The Researcher will be a member of the Metabolic Bone Unit, working within the multidisciplinary team in the specialist area of osteoporosis, renal bone disease and rare bone diseases. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a significant impact in the field of bone research and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge. The locum researcher will play a crucial role in the Bone Research and Clinical Rheumatology team, focusing on the histology of bone and specifically renal bone disorders. One responsibility will be to utilise electronic medical records to monitor patients undergoing iliac bone diagnostic biopsy. They will be responsible for overseeing the entire process, from the initial request to the final report, whether it is a surgical or interventional radiology procedure. In addition, the locum researcher will be responsible for analysing and interpreting bone tissue samples for routine and specialised microscopic examination. This will greatly contribute to the management of patients with metabolic bone and renal-bone diseases. To aid in their analysis, they will have access to Bioquant Software, which allows for quantification of bone biopsy images and the interpretation of the results. They will also collaborate with experts to generate comprehensive reports based on their findings.
