Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to come and be part of our clinical education leadership team. This permanent position is an exciting opportunity to provide strong leadership and direction across pre-registration nursing, midwifery and AHP practice education at CUH.
Working with the Head of Non-Medical Education you will be responsible for leading all pre-registration education/placements for nursing, midwifery and AHPs and all aspects of pre-registration education governance across the organisation alongside an ambition and commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care in order to meet our strategic objectives.
Main duties of the job
Lead, promote, and facilitate a safe and positive learning environment for pre-registration Nursing, Midwifery and AHP learners
In partnership with partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs):
Co-ordinate and facilitate the educational/placement activities of all pre-registration learners including co-ordinating placement allocations with the Non-Medical Placement Allocations Manager
Promote evidenced based learning in the development of practice and ensure all Trust based teaching reflects current curriculum content and structure
Work effectively in partnership to manage learner placement mapping, ensuring an individualized approach to enable all learners to meet their course requirements
Work collaboratively with NHS England and ICS partners regarding placement expansion and placement assurance
Create practice-based opportunities for learning to reinforce the classroom based theory so that learners achieve the requirements to complete their programme of study
Ensure support for learners in practice by monitoring the provision of continuing professional development of Practice Assessors, Supervisors, and Educators.
Determine the optimal ratios of assessors in practice for learners and develop a strategy to meet and maintain this objective.
Prioritise wellbeing of learners and oversee pastoral care to all Nursing, Midwifery and AHP learners across the organisation and wider experience settings. Escalate concerns to appropriate HEIs where appropriate.
