Job summary
The Lung Function Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital provides a diagnostic service to most specialities within the Trust. As the administrative assistant you will primarily be responsible for booking outpatient and inpatient appointments and liaising with patients with regards to more specialised test bookings. You will work alongside a remotely working experienced colleague so good teamwork and communication is essential.
You will also liaise with the clinical physiologists to discuss appropriateness of bookings and ascertaining optimum times for inpatient requests to be scheduled.
You should have some experience of working in a service level industry and demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and data protection. You should be able to demonstrate good computer literacy, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office applications or other database software. Previous experience of working in the NHS would be desirable but not essential. Demonstrable excellent communication skills are essential to the post.
Main duties of the job
You will provide high quality administrative support and play a key role in the efficient day to day activities of the department you are matched to. Tasks may include writing documents, reception duties, customer service, maintaining databases, booking appointments/meetings, and filing, organising and booking meeting rooms and general administrative support to the department.
