Job summary

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with great communication skills to join our team in Renal Medicine.

Ward C5 is a 23 bedded Nephrology Ward, specialising in acute Renal Medicine. The ward looks after both patients with chronic Kidney Disease on Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis and patients with acute Kidney injuries

The ward also serves as a regional centre for Vasculitis and other related autoimmune conditions. The ward functions alongside a 6 bedded acute Dialysis Unit, which serves all inpatients across the hospital requiring Haemodialysis.

You will work with the Senior Sister to provide leadership and support to staff. Support will be provided to develop your knowledge and skills within renal medicine as well as additional Band 6 responsibilities. Prior experience isn't necessary as support and training will be given and there will be the opportunity to develop dialysis skills.

This post involves a full range of shifts including nights and weekends and will require participation in the nurse bleep holder rota.

Main duties of the job

To assist the ward / unit manager in the overall management of the ward and to provide safe, individualised, holistic and evidence based, patient focused care for renal, dialysis and medical patients on Ward C5

To participate in a full range of shifts, including Trust and Unit bleep holder rotas, ensuring a visible presence in the ward area.
