Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Sisters/Charge Nurses within Day Surgery.

L2 Day Surgery is an elective unit providing pre and postoperative care to 50+ patients each day from a wide array of specialities and continue to develop our service and 23hr pathways.

You will support the Ward Manager in the leadership and management for the provision of care within the unit providing a visible leadership presence. You willensurehigh standards of evidence based clinical care are continuously achieved and monitored.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing safe and efficient care on a busy day of surgical admissions unit.

To work as a Clinical Specialist within the peri-ops service.

Support training and development of all grades of staff including the provision of a positive learning environment in which staff can maximise their potential.

To manage the department and deputise for the senior sister as required.

To undertake Bleep holding responsibilities for the Division to support ward areas as required to cover a 24 hour service inclusive of night duty
