Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to work within our Lung Cancer specialist nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at a time when lung cancer services are developing rapidly, reflected in the need for the nursing team to expand. The lung cancer pathway is wide and varied, and involves coordinating and guiding patients and families from referral through to diagnostics, oncology treatment and onward supportive care. This involves working with a Multi-Disciplinary Team across two disciplines (Respiratory and Oncology), as well as close liaison with the Thoracic Oncology team at Royal Papworth Hospital. You will have excellent skills in communication and time-management, and be able to work under pressure.
You will have the ability to work in a team (alongside the current Lead CNS, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Specialist Support Nurse) as well as an autonomous practitioner with your own caseload. Candidates with a background and interest in either Respiratory or Oncology might want to consider applying for this post.
