A new and exciting part time opportunity has arisen to join our Amputee Physiotherapy Team as a Band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist. You would work as part of an innovative team in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings within the Physiotherapy Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital and surrounding Clinics. You would have the opportunity to review patients throughout the amputee rehabilitation pathway from pre-assessment to prosthetic rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Our Physiotherapy Department has 200 staff and we are a major teaching hospital with a strong focus on lifelong development and training as well as research. We strongly support staff education and have a generous system to support CPD study funding and evidence based practice.
The department and the team are friendly and dedicated towards the delivery of an excellent service for all our users as well as committed to service improvements. You will receive excellent training to develop new skills.
Main duties of the job
To provide a highly specialised physiotherapy input to both Inpatient and Outpatient patients with amputations.
To be responsible for the provision and development of the amputee service, alongside the clinical specialist and specialist Physiotherapist within the acute Trust, Cambridgeshire and the surrounding region.
To be aware of alternative Physiotherapy Services within the Community to ensure wherever possible the most appropriate form of physiotherapy for the individual referred to the service.
To undertake a leadership role in planning, co- coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided within the acute Trust to patients with amputations across all specialties.
To develop links with Community Teams promoting equitable provision of Physiotherapy across the region, facilitate onward referrals and equipment provision.
