The Boiler House Manager will assist the Lead Technician and Environmental Services Manager with arranging and managing all large planned maintenance and upgrade projects (from £50K - £200K) within the Incinerator and Boiler House facility, and often will perform additional work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine. Staff Bank Services successfully provides temporary staffing throughout Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust via a variety of different assignments.
Main duties of the job
The worker will communicate to a wide variety of staff, including Senior Engineering, Operational Managers, Technicians, Security and all staff groups affected by the works being completed, contractors and suppliers to ensure that all planned and emergency works are completed on time and within budget costs. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all consumables are on site when required, and all contractors co-ordinated to ensure minimum loss of down time for both incinerators and boiler house
The worker must have an in depth knowledge of the workings of both the incinerators including emission monitoring and the boiler house including managing all Insurance inspections and water treatment requirements.
The worker will ensure that all method statements and permit to works are in place prior to works commencing
The worker to have good understanding and knowledge of the complex pressure systems for both boiler house and site and be an approved person (AP) for pressure systems.
The worker will manage safely the day to day running of the boiler house and maintain essential site wide steam and hot water services.
The worker will be a qualified Boiler Manager
