Job summary

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer / Midwife Sonographer. This post is open to those with an appropriate qualification in Obstetric Ultrasound and is offered on a part or full time basis as a Band 7.

The Rosie Hospital is a tertiary referral centre for women in the East Anglian region. You will be working within a small and friendly team. As a department we are dedicated to providing a high quality ultrasound service and work closely with our Fetal Medicine and Maternal Medicine colleagues to provide a holistic service.

You will be participating in the National Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme (FASP) and following the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle.

This position is only open to qualified sonographers with an appropriate qualification.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the delivery of a high quality responsive ultrasound service, managing an unpredictable workload according to department needs for the Trust.

To be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of obstetric ultrasound scans to include early pregnancy, dating / NT measurement, fetal anomaly screening and third trimester. The post will include some weekend work to cover the early pregnancy assessment service.

To join a multidisciplinary team participating in service delivery, teaching, research, audit and management activities as appropriate.

To independently undertake ultrasound examinations, communicating the results to patients and other staff. Make appropriate clinical decisions about further actions or referrals in accordance with local and National guidelines.

To provide high quality training to relevant staff in all aspects of obstetric ultrasound.

To maintain a high level of professionalism and act as a source of expertise to other members of the multidisciplinary.
