This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse to join the CUH Stroke Research team and play an important role in recruitment to, and conduct of, NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) stroke studies. You will work closely with the comprehensive stroke services at CUH and with the internationally renowned stroke research unit within the University of Cambridge. https://www.cambridgestroke.com/
The group have an extremely successful record of recruiting to a wide range of studies from hyperacute stroke to prevention and rehabilitation studies, and is one of the top stroke recruiting teams in England.
You will join a team of 4 CRN funded staff. They will be responsible for identifying eligible clinical research participants, provision of information and support to patients/ participant, study recruitment and consent, co-ordination of study treatment/ interventions, data collection according to study protocols, and participant follow-up.
You will be responsible for ensuring all research is conducted according to ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines for the wellbeing of patient/study participants.
Main duties of the job
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit to the full range of stroke studies including acute stroke, prevention and rehabilitation.
Rotate with other members of the team to cover recruitment of acute stroke admission in A and E and recruitment of patients on the stroke wards
Perform clinical assessments as required including follow-ups. This will include collecting clinical information.
Liaise closely with other members of the stroke multidisciplinary team to facilitate recruitment
Provide training in research to other members of the clinical team to encourage them to identify suitable patients for research.
May require some flexibility with cross working across specialties on portfolio studies.
