Job summary

Oh Occupational Health and Wellbeing is the Occupational Health department for Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) and other organisations including Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH). Supporting a workforce population of around 20,000 Oh aims to improve the health, safety and general wellbeing of all staff, striving to create a healthier working environment for all.

We offer a range of high quality services including infection screening and immunisation, infectious outbreak contact tracing, fitness for work assessments, advice on sickness absence management, advice on stress management, assessment for long-term disability benefits or ill-health retirement, health surveillance, health promotion, training and education.

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Lead Clinical Nurse for Occupational Health & Wellbeing. We are looking for someone who is a natural role model, who consistently demonstrates the Trust values with a passion for supporting and developing others while providing visible leadership to motivate and inspire their teams.

This post provides opportunities for flexible working (Mon-Fri with no rostered out-of-hours working and no on call requirement) as well as opportunities for research and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This is an onsite based clinical post with some working from home.

Due to CUH major internal incidents you may be required on occasion to work outside of your contracted working hours.

A fixed term/secondment would be considered.

Main duties of the job

To provide an impartial, clinically safe, confidential and expert Occupational Health and Wellbeing service to the employees of Cambridge University Hospitals and external clients.

To provide professional and clinical leadership ensuring a high quality, customer focused, efficient and cost-effective service delivered to the highest professional standards.

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis implementation and evaluation of care, as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist skills.

Undertake clinical activities according to service needs, and responsibility for the management of complex cases.

As an integral member of OH senior leadership team, be involved in the strategic review of clinical services as appropriate.

As a professional lead in Occupational Health & Wellbeing, will provide professional and clinical leadership, influencing and shaping change, whilst ensuring a high quality, customer focused, and efficient service. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation of care as an autonomous practitioner within this highly specialist area.

Where there is specific OH related training required for the role, we will look to support and fund this for the successful applicant.
