Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Acute services in Medicine and Care of the Elderly at Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust. The post will involve working across these services as part of the multidisciplinary team and as a valued member of the Advanced Practice team.

You will commit to undertaking a 3 year training program which includes a Masters in Advanced Practice and completing a competency based portfolio to become a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

You must demonstrate a desire to learn which is essential for this role, as are good interpersonal and organisational skills. You will take pride in the clinical area and create a culture where the team feel empowered. The service aims to deliver and sustain highest standards of care, quality and dignity for all patients and the trainee ACP will be responsible for delivering this.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be practicing under supervision as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) within acute medicine and medicine for the elderly which includes acute medicine take and post take ward rounds in those services. They will be expected to provide patient-centred quality care and to adhere to the Trust values. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout acute medicine. The post holder will, under supervision, assist in the safe referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in designated areas of Acute Services.
