Job summary

We are looking for someone for a 12 month secondment to oversee the running of Clinic 5 Medical Ambulatory Care Unit. We see SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) patients who have been referred from their GP's or the Emergency department as well as from other specialities in the hospital.

You will be responsible for managing a team of nurses and health care support workers which will include recruitment, sickness and HR issues. You will also be expected to work clinically at times and to act as a role model for junior staff.

It is open 7 days a week with a variety of shift times. The clinic closes at 20.00 in the week Monday to Friday

Weekends are a 08:30 - 16:00

Main duties of the job

To lead and co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care within budgetary resources

To assess care needs, to develop, to implement and evaluate programmes of care

To be responsible for all aspects of staff management and recruitment in line with HR policy

To participate in a full range of shifts, including Trust and Unit bleep holder rotas, ensuring a visible presence in the ward area

To be responsible for all aspects of clinical governance and risk management within the ward area
