Job summary

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in Neonatology (equivalent to Core/Higher ST3-5/ST6+) with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 01 January 2024 for a period of 12-24 months.

This Neonatal Clinical Fellow post will be based in the Academic Department of Paediatrics, which is part of the University of Cambridge.

The post aims to develop skills in clinical research and would be an opportunity for an interested and motivated individual to develop their own area of interest and apply for further research funding.

The primary purpose of the post is to support delivery and development of the portfolio of research being undertaken within the Cambridge Newborn Research Group in Cambridge. Research currently includes a range of studies from single centre physiological studies, and device trials to a large international CTIMP study.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to support the multidisciplinary research team to deliver the groups Portfolio of studies in accordance with GCP. The post holder will also be expected to work collaboratively alongside others in the research team including Phd and post-doctoral research associates to enhance research activity within the unit.

There is no clinical commitment to the post. The timetable will be dependent on the evolving Trial and education demands of the individual, and the department.

An essential part of the role is flexibility to be available to support the recruitment and delivery of clinical studies.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria, MBBS or equivalent, minimum 6 months tertiary level NICU experience in the UK, ability to work as part of a team, basic computer skills.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.
