We have an exciting opportunity to join the Cambridge University Hospitals physiotherapy neurospecialist services.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist who has knowledge of working in neurological out patient services. You will have experience in managinga range of neurological conditions including metastatic spinal cord compression, brain tumours, facial palsy, vestibularconditions and motor neuron disease. You will play a key roles in service development and strivefor excellence of care. You will alsobe involvedin supervision of staff, as well as teaching and student training,
Our Physiotherapy Department has 180 staff and we are a regional teaching hospital with a major trauma service with high focus on lifelong development and training, as well as research. We strongly support staff education and have a generous system to support study funding and evidence based practice.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialised neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation to neurology outpatients, consisting of patients with diverse neurological impairments.
To manage the outpatient neurology and neuro-oncology physiotherapy services and to be aware of alternative physiotherapy services within the community to ensure wherever possible the most appropriate form of physiotherapy for the individual referred to the service.
To undertake a team leader role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to neurologically impaired patients throughout Addenbrooke's hospital on a day-to-day basis.
To undertake further development, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of the Physiotherapy Service provided to Neurologically impaired patients throughout Addenbrooke's Hospital on a day-to-day basis.
To work alongside the in patient neurology specialists and the Out Patient services so it can deliver the highest possible standard of collaborative service.
Develop links with community teams promoting equitable provision of physiotherapy across the region and facilitate onward referrals and equipment provision.
