Job summary
We invite applications for a fixed term (6 month contract) Clinical Scientist role from enthusiastic and motivated individuals with HCPC registration or those in their final year expecting to obtain registration soon. STP trainees reaching the end of their training are actively encouraged to apply.
The Clinical Biochemistry laboratories at CUH provide routine and specialist services both locally and nationally and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in all areas of the Clinical Biochemistry service, including clinical authorisation, supporting current STP, validation of IT changes and research and quality improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in specialist services.
Main duties of the job
To assist the clinical lead in the provision of clinical and scientific support to the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory run by CUH. This Laboratory incorporates both the Automated Clinical Biochemistry and Specialist Endocrine Laboratory based at CUH.
To interact and liaise with a wide range of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

- Honours degree in relevant science
- MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent
- Clinical Scientist State registration with Health and Care Professions Council or final year STP trainee nearing completion.
Desirable
- Part 1 Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists
- Research training and experience to PhD level or equivalent
