Job summary

We have an opportunity for Healthcare Support Workers to join the team on Medical Ambulatory Care in Clinic 5 where you will work as a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.

You will work with a team of doctors, nurses, specialist teams and other Healthcare Support Workers to care for SDEC (Same day Emergency Care) patients on a busy Day Unit.

You will gain the opportunity to learn and develop Band 3 skills on a daily basis to assist the team in providing excellent patient care.

The unit is open Monday - Friday 08:30AM-20:00PM, weekends and bank holidays 9-4. You must be able to work shifts across all days.

Main duties of the job

To assist in promoting patient care and other ward or departmental related duties as directed by Registered Nurses

  • Literacy and Numeracy (level 2) or equivalent e.g. Maths/English GCSE grade C or above/willing to work towards and achieve within 6 months of commencing the Band 3 role

  • Diploma Level 2/3 in Care/Health or other relevant qualification
