Job summary
Hinchingbrooke Dialysis Unit is one of 4 off site Dialysis Units managed by Addenbrookes Hospital and is located at Hinchingbrooke Hospital within Huntingdon. We are a friendly and supportive nurse led unit supported by our multi-disciplinary team colleagues from offsite. You will be employed by Cambridge University Hospital working in partnership with Fresenius Medical Care. There may be the opportunity to spend time in one of our other satellite units to gain a further perspective on the role.
The 20 station satellite unit compromises of 18 operational stations and 2 isolation rooms, dialysing a mixture of long-term dialysis dependent patients from in and around the surrounding area and any of our regular dialysis patients who become inpatients from Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
The service runs from 06:30 - 18:30 Monday to Saturday. Our shift patterns are as follows: -
EARLY 6.30AM - 14.30
LATE 10.30AM - 18.30
LONG DAY 6.30AM - 18.30
We are not open on Sundays unless the unit has a service provision need or if Christmas/ New Year Day falls Monday - Saturday.
There is also a proposal being considered for opening an evening shift so shift times may change in the future.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate can work flexibly across the variety of these shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of safe individualised, holistic and evidence-based patient focused care in consultation with the patient, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
Prior experience is desirable but not essential. We have a competency-based learning programme and an experienced team to support learning.
