Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated individual to the position of Hospital Engineer within the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Department.
You will support the Senior Engineer, in close cooperation with other Senior Estates Engineering staff, with the responsibility for successful ongoing operation and maintenance of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust premises and assets with a special emphasis on liaising with the Trust Projects teams and ensuring statutory compliance and a suitable environment for patient care is available at all times.
You will be educated to or working towards Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or have equivalent level of knowledge and experience and will have in-depth knowledge of applicable guidance, for example HTM, BN, HTN and other applicable guidance or best practice.
Main duties of the job
- To provide detailed professional technical advice to staff and contractors on issues that are complex and non-routine relating to the infrastructure and associated plant and equipment.
- To supervise and control the engineering specialty of a broad range of complex works and systems at any one time.
- To ensure the assets are maintained in accordance with statutory and mandatory requirements and work with the maintenance team and contractors at all CUH premises.
