Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a permanent Sister/Charge Nurse has become available on Ward F6.
Ward F6 is a 27 bedded medicine ward for elderly patients. We are looking for a highly motivated registered nurse to support the Band 7 Senior Sister in leading and supporting the teams on the ward specialising in the care of the older person. You will act as a role model for the Trust values, set a standard in providing exceptional patient care and assist the Senior Sister in delivering targets set for the ward.
We can offer you the opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills and also develop your knowledge and skills in caring for patients with dementia and/or delirium.
This post involves a full range of shifts, including nights and weekends and will require participation in the nurse bleep holder rota.
Main duties of the job
To manage and co-ordinate nursing care and to provide a safe and effective level of patient care.
To assist with the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care using agreed frameworks.
To participate in the supervision and teaching of qualified and unqualified staff, including students.
To regularly take charge of the ward on an internal rotation system. To deputise for the Senior Sister across the full range of ward management responsibilities.
