Job summary
We have a rare opportunity to apply for an exciting senior position, within a dynamic and passionate nurse led team of dermatology specialists. We are looking for a part time CNS in dermatology,ideally suited to cover 3 days a week, flexible with shift timings, between 22.5-27 hours.
The post requires a skilled registered adult nurse with experience in dermatology. Providing care to a varied group of patients, who take systemic, biological and acne medications to control their skin disease.
You will need to be able to work independently facilitating nurse-led clinics alongside the multi-disciplinary team. Our current nurse-led follow-up clinics include psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa and acne. In which drug monitoring, repeat prescription management, disease management/modifications to the treatment plan and patient education are undertaken.
Being an established nurse prescriber and dermatology experience essential, ideally with the desire and innovation to improve pathways for care of acne management. You will be able to self manage own work load. To also provide specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff. This includes assisting with the provision of specialist education when required. As well as, implementing an integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments.
The post holder will demonstrate motivation for the specialty, and the complexity and variety of nurse led clinics we have to offer.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder is a recognised expert in the specialty, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and undertaking specialist nursing procedures
- Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff. This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students
- Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care
- Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area
