A new opportunity has arisen for a Booking co-ordinator to join our Staff Bank Bookings Team.
You will provide an efficient and effective service to all areas within the Trust, responding to requests for temporary cover and placing Bank workers appropriately to assist in the provision of excellent patient care.
Excellent communication skills will be vital as you will work closely with designated areas, developing good relationships and ensuring that current information about the status of requests is shared with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse or designated nurse in charge. You will communicate with Bank workers to notify them of urgent or short notice requirements or to share key information. You will also liaise with Bank workers in order to provide optimum cover for staffing shortfalls throughout the Trust and take a targeted approach when dealing with requests from specific areas.
The role requires you to have good organisational skills that will contribute to the efficiency of the department and make an overall difference. You will need to show attention to detail and accuracy when completing daily reports and record data where appropriate.

Main duties of the job
Provide a consistent approach when dealing with cancellations from both clinical and administrative Bank workers, recording appropriately and escalating concerns or taking any other action necessary.
Liaise with Bank workers where there shifts have been cancelled by areas, offering alternative shifts where possible or liaising with areas where shifts are being cancelled outside of permitted timeframes to ensure due payment is made.
Work independently outside of core office hours, only seeking support for the Bookings Co-ordinator Team Leader, Staff Bank Training Lead and Deputy Manager, Staff Bank Manager or Operations Centre if the matter is extremely urgent or cannot wait until the next standard working day.
Support new Bank Healthcare Support Workers, to include meeting during CSSIP, conducting new starter reviews, monitoring hours worked to enable weekend and night shifts to be undertaken and providing advice on the most appropriate areas to work in according to their level of experience.
Monitor progress of Bank Healthcare Support Workers in the completion of the Care Certificate, ensuring this is done so within an appropriate timeframe.
Support new Bank RNs by arranging a supernumerary shift in an area most closely aligned to their existing skill set and providing ongoing advice on the most appropriate areas in which to book future Bank shifts.
