Job summary

Ward G3 is a 27 bed Renal /Diabetic ward which supports the care and management of patients requiring care in these specialities.

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive Band 6 to work with this committed team. We support staff development which enhances our patient care and enriches our work life experience. We will ensure you have the development opportunities needed to work in this area. However, if you have any skills and expertise in these areas, these would be very welcomed.

The ability to work a full range of clinical shifts including early, late, long days and nights is essential

Main duties of the job

To manage and co-ordinate nursing care and to provide a safe and effective level of patient care.

To assist with the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care using agreed frameworks.

To participate in the supervision and teaching of qualified and unqualified staff, including basic and/or post basic students.

To regularly take charge of the ward on an internal rotation system. To deputise for the Ward Manager across the full range of ward management responsibilities.
