Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Accreditation and Harm Free Care.

You will lead on and oversee the Trust Wide accreditation process, review the embedding of the accreditation process and will oversee and line manage the Harm Free Care Team.

Provide timely reports and assurance against all areas of responsibility as detailed in the job description.

Main duties of the job

Lead on the embedding & further development of a Trust-wide accreditation process, working in partnership / alongside the improvement and transformation and patient safety teams.

Ensure all clinical areas have systems in place to support monitoring of compliance and standards of practice.

Ensure a robust nursing audit programme is in place and work with the improvement and transformation and patient safety teams to ensure QI projects are led at ward/department level.

Support the Trust to develop and implement systems for performance monitoring and performance improvement programmes for patient safety at ward/department level.

Provide expert, strong and professional nursing leadership and advice across the organisation.

Be responsible for engaging nursing and midwifery staff across the divisions in taking forward the nursing priorities and lead Trust wide nursing and midwifery quality improvement initiatives.

Provide visible leadership in clinical areas.

Oversee the Harm Free Care review process and associated Quality Improvement commitment.

Oversee the roll out of national agenda in harm free care, Quality Improvement and issues pertaining to patient safety, setting standards and guidelines for best practice

Provide line management and leadership for the Harm Free care team.

  • First level Registered Nurse with NMC registration
  • Qualified to Masters or equivalent level
  • Postgraduate management qualification or substantial relevant experience at senior level
