Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team, to provide a first-class, efficient and effective Executive Assistant service to the two Divisional Directors (DD) and Associate Director of Operations (ADO) such that they and other Senior Managers within the Division are able to focus on their key responsibilities. The post holder will have delegated authority and responsibility to act independently and handle and deliver decisions and actions

Main duties of the job

The role is challenging but varied and requires excellent organisational and communication skills. The candidate must have good organisational skills, the ability to use own initiative, the ability to show attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. In return the successful applicant will enjoy a varied role and opportunities for personal development.

Essential

  • Relevant Diploma or equivalent
  • Plus a formal secretarial qualification
  • Excellent level of general education
  • OCR RSA Word processing level 3
  • OCR RSA Text processing level 2

Desirable

  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or similar level IT qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of office practice
  • Sound exposure to the demands of working in a complex, fast evolving organisation

Desirable

  • Office management experience
  • Staff management experience

Knowledge

  • Awareness of major issues in the NHS
  • Ability to use various office packages to a high level for production of reports, presentations and scheduling
