Job summary
We are looking for a passionate and committed Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedics with a specialist interest in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery to join the team at the West Suffolk Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Bury St Edmunds.
The individual appointed to the post will have completed orthopaedic training and have completed or be undertaking a training fellowship in paediatric orthopaedic surgery. They will need to share desire to deliver highest standard care to patient presenting with a wide range of paediatric orthopaedic problems within a DGH setting.

Main duties of the job
o Provision of Trauma and Orthopaedic services, to the highest clinical standards in particular to lead in the development of a subspecialist service in paediatric orthopaedics
o To share with colleagues' responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department
o Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students, para-medical practitioners.
o To participate actively in both Departmental and Trust Clinical Governance and Audit.
o To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME), appraisal and revalidation.

- Entry on GMC Specialist Register for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and hold a licence to practise or be eligible for entry on the Register (within six months of completion of Certificate of Completion of Training) at time of interview.
