Job summary
The Lung Cancer Screening Support Nurse plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, patient-centred lung cancer screening service. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post-holder supports the coordination, and follow-up of individuals referred for lung health checks and low-dose CT screening.
Main duties of the job
The nurse provides expert guidance, health education, and holistic support to patients throughout the screening pathway, ensuring they fully understand the purpose of screening, potential outcomes, and next steps.
The role requires excellent communication, compassion, and organisational skills, with a strong focus on early detection, reducing health inequalities, and promoting positive health behaviours. The Lung Cancer Screening Support Nurse contributes to service development, maintains accurate documentation, and upholds clinical quality and safety standards to improve outcomes for people at risk of lung cancer.

- Evidence of relevant post registration study

- A broad range of experience working with patients and their families who have complex psychosocial needs
