Job summary

We are looking for a keen and committed individual to join our team in cardiology, providing administration support for the day-to-day running of the Diagnostic Cardiology Department, located in The West Suffolk Hospitals Cardiac Centre. Key aspects of this role include working closely with a variety of people and utilising the cardiology patient database to ensure smooth running of the diagnostic cardiology department.

It is an exciting time in the hospital as a new dedicated Cardiac Centre has recently opened. This has provided diagnostic cardiology with a state of the art department, alongside the cardiac ward and brand new angiography lab.

The Cardiology departmentis a small, friendly department and are very proud of the quality of services we offer. Our Cardiology Department staff consists of a mix of cardiac physiologists, cardiographers, assistant technical officers and admin support staff.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will join the Clerical and Administrative team within the Diagnostic Cardiology Department. As a member of the Diagnostic Cardiology Team, the applicant will support the administrative functions within the team, and all other linked areas e.g. Wards, Clinics and the catheter lab.

The post holder will perform varied departmental administration dutiesincluding; booking appointments, reception cover and communications with patients on a daily basis.

In the performance of duties, the post holder will be required to liaise with medical and nursing staff and other departments across West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as necessary.
