An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated children's nurse to join our Complex Care Team as a Senior Complex Care Coordinator.
This is a key leadership role within our specialist community nursing service, supporting children and young people with complex and technology-dependent health care needs across the Suffolk area. You will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality, safe and family-centred care is delivered in the community, while supporting and developing our dedicated team of Complex Care Coordinators.
Working closely with the Complex Care Lead, you will provide clinical expertise, operational support and leadership within the service. Ensuring robust training, effective team coordination, and seamless delivery of bespoke care packages.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Act as senior coordinator for the education, training and ongoing supervision of the Complex Care Team, ensuring staff maintain high standards of competence and confidence.
- Provide expert clinical advice and support to the Community Children's Nursing Team and wider professionals.
- Lead on the development and delivery of bespoke training packages for staff, children, and families.
- Support the Complex Care Lead in managing team operations, including service planning, assessments and reassessments under the Framework for Continuing Care.
- Take responsibility for managing and coordinating the Complex Care Team rota to ensure commissioned care packages are safely covered.
- Deputise for the Complex Care Lead in their absence, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
- Contribute to service development through audit, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide support to the Complex Care Team out of hours.

Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.

- RN - Child Branch or RSCN Diploma/Degree
- Evidence of further study at degree/masters' level
- Teaching and assessing qualification
Desirable
- Specialist Practice Community Children Nursing Degree or equivalent
- Commitment to work towards the Specialist Practice Community Children's degree or other approved qualification
Experience & Knowledge

- Minimum of 2 years post registration experience in acute or community setting
