We are looking for a passionate Band 8a Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work within the Paediatric and Neonatal departments at West Suffolk. This is a full-time post which will include evening and weekend working. Successful candidates must have demonstrable experience at Band 7 or 8a and must hold an MSc in Advanced Paediatric Nursing Practice (ambulatory care) or MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

You will work both independently but also alongside other medical and nursing staff to provide excellent clinical care to our children.

The ACP is accountable for independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. In addition to this the ACP is also responsible for appropriately referring patients to relevant specialities for any necessary inpatient or outpatient investigations as well as facilitating safe patient discharge.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will use a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making alongside demonstrating the four pillars of practice, Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education and Research in providing healthcare that enables innovative solutions to enhance experience and improve outcomes within their speciality area.

  • oPossession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
