Estates Building Officer - Community

Job summary

The role holder is responsible for the supervision, planning and allocation of Estates trade staff and external contractors who undertake maintenance repairs and minor new works installations on a wide range of building, engineering plant and equipment across the Trust and community sites.

The post is primarily based at Newmarket with responsibility for that site and the Trusts community sites. They will also be required to support at other locations

Main duties of the job

The role holder will provide technical assistance to staff and contractors on issues that are complex and non routine ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

The role holder will be responsible for all contractor management at their sites including administration of the Trust Permit to Work Scheme.

The role holder will be responsible for maintaining the departments Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive works programme and to ensure that all PPMs are compliant to current mandatory and statutory legislation and up to date with new assets as they come on line.

To undertake complex fault diagnosis on building services, fault rectification, maintenance and capital works across the Trust. In addition, the post holder will be required to plan minor improvement work as directed by the Estates manager or their nominated officers.

The post holder will be responsible on a daily basis to the Estates Operations Maintenance Manager.

The post holder will ideally have a building background with good all round skills in domestic, industrial and commercial maintenance fields.

The role holder will be required to be an Authorised Person (AP) in relevant services after suitable training.

The role holder will be required to participate in the departments Senior Engineers On-Call out of hours service.
