Job summary
To provide effective patient care whilst working as a member of the midwifery/ nursing team across West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. To ensure the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs.
The role will involve being part of the Midwifery and Nursing Team on the postnatal maternity ward.
Provide post operative care.
Main duties of the job
Encourage evidence based, innovative practice in the delivery of nursing care and support the implementation of changes identified to improve care.
Support the application of local standards, policies and philosophies which further patient centred, individual and evidence-based care for all patients.
Take any appropriate action to ensure patient safety is a priority.
Act in accordance with local child protection procedures (Safeguarding Children and Domestic Abuse.
Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives, ensuring accurate and seamless information is conveyed and documented.
Ensure that accurate and legible patient records are kept in line with professional and legal requirements.
Adhere to the NMC code of professional conduct.
Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with consultants, medical staff, midwifery colleagues and other multi-agency professionals
Provide post operative care on Labour Suite and/or Postnatal ward

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.
