Nursing Assistant - Band 2 - Medical & Surgical Wards - flexible working, full training provided.
Upon successful completion of Care Certificate/Ward based competencies, your banding will be upgraded to Band 3.

Main duties of the job
As a nursing assistant you will provide invaluable support to ward teams and help with direct patient care, which might include:
- Measuring and observing the physical characteristics/condition of patients, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, peak flows and weight
- Assisting patients with the maintenance of their personal and oral hygiene, including washing/bathing, mouth and dental care, hair-washing, nail care, shaving and dressing/undressing
- Assisting patients to eat and drink as per their care plan, identifying, recording and reporting abnormal dietary and fluid intake
- Assisting patients with mobility, using safe manual handling techniques
- Assisting patients to use toilet facilities.
If you are successful in your application, you will be required to take part in an induction programme in order to achieve the required competencies for the Care Certificate which is a nationally recognised qualification! You will be assigned to a ward/department area and the aim is that you will achieve the Care Certificate within the first six weeks of your employment with the Trust.

The aim is that you will achieve the Care Certificate within the first six weeks of your employment with the Trust.
