Job summary
We are a department of over 44 Dietitians and associates, providing an integrated dietetic service to the West Suffolk Hospital and the wider community. Within the service, there is a range of specialities within paediatrics and adults, acute and community. The West Suffolk Dietetic service is a diverse and innovative department that is currently involved in several large-scale service development projects that aim to improve patient care and showcase the value of dietetics. We fully support and encourage professional development opportunities within our service.
The West Suffolk Hospital is based in the market and cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds, known for its historical buildings, beautiful outside spaces, and independent shops. It is easy to reach - just 25 minutes from Cambridge and less than 2 hours from London and serviced by its own train station. The wider county of Suffolk is awash with pretty rural villages, medieval towns and swathes of rolling green countryside bordered to the east by 50 kilometres of glorious coastline with expansive open sky views.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Band 6 Dietitian to come and join our friendly and forward-thinking acute adult team in a varied role providing support to the band 7 dietitians. Enteral and parenteral feeding experience would be advantageous, but training can be provided. After completing the training, the successful candidate will achieve competencies within the area of enteral feeding. There are further opportunities to undertake training in other specialist areas if desired. The post holder will also manage a general community dietetic clinic alongside their acute caseload.
