Job summary

We have a very exciting opportunity for Band 5 Registered Nurses to come and work within our dynamic team here on Ward F7, where we believe that an open, honest, approachable and transparent environment, together with amazing teamwork is the key to happy staff and good, safe patient care.

F7 is a fast paced, 34 bedded Short Stay Acute Medical Ward, responsible for maximising patient flow within the hospital. We receive patients from the Acute Assessment Unit and Emergency Department with a diverse range of medical conditions.

F7 is also one of the designated ward areas for Non-Invasive Ventilation, High Flow Oxygen and Chest Drains and as a Registered Nurse on F7, you will have the opportunity to undertake training in these skills in order to care for these patients.

This is a full or part time, permanent post, rotating between 12-hour days and nights shifts although flexible working is an option.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse on F7, you will be expected to:

  • Deliver, safe, quality care to all patients through a process of assessment planning, implementing and evaluating care given
  • Deliver high standards of care based on evidenced based practice and abiding by hospital policies
  • Support junior staff, acting as a role model
  • Use your own initiative and working independently, within the boundaries of your own existing knowledge, skill and competency level and job description
  • Use effective communication with all members of the multi-disciplinary team within the clinical environment and wider Hospital Trust and community
  • Provide open and effective communication with patients and their families
  • Update and develop own knowledge, professional practice and clinical skills
  • Have full UK NMC Registration and PIN number and ready to work as a Band 5 at interview
