Rosemary Ward is a 33 bedded nurse led inpatient unit at Newmarket
Community Hospital providing rehabilitation and discharge planning for those
patients no longer needing an acute bed.
We also provide end of life care for patients. It has the benefit of
being a small friendly hospital, while being part of the larger West Suffolk
Foundation Trust.
We are
looking to recruit full or part-time registered nurses to join our team on
Rosemary Ward at Newmarket Community Hospital in Newmarket. We can offer flexible
working and set shift pattern.
As a new
member of the team you will receive a comprehensive induction supported by the
senior nursing teams as well as the rest of the team. For internal candidates,
we will consider secondment opportunities, which should be supported by your
Manager.

Main duties of the job
As
a Registered Nurse on Rosemary ward, you will be part of the nursing team,
taking responsibility for the care of a group of patients. You will work with
the multi disciplinary team, patients and their families to plan effective and
appropriate discharges.
You
will use your problem solving skills along side clinical decision making,. it
is a varied job role where no 2 days are ever the same. You will need good organisational and communication skills
and be keen to integrate into a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team.
Rosemary

Staff Nurses are
responsible for the delivery of care and the assessment, development,
implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care. They are expected to take delegated responsibility
in a given shift for a group of patients. With experience, they may be expected to take
charge of the ward/department regularly in the absence of the Sister/Charge
Nurse.

within an allocated time frame. Delegate
activities to team members appropriately.
To identify and manage any
deteriorating patient swiftly referring to the appropriate medical personnel.
Supervises the delivery of
care to maintain agreed standards.
Identifies problems and
risks, decides on appropriate actions via a structured approach and report
promptly to other staff on matters requiring their input.
Works collaboratively with
the inter-professional team and other staff on the ward/department and with
increasing experience coordinates care given by the inter-professional team and
other staff on the ward/department.
Ensures all emergencies,
untoward incidents, complaints and grievances are responded to and reported in
accordance with Trust Policies.
Is fully conversant with
all policies and procedures, including Major Accident, Resuscitation, Fire,
Health and Safety, and acts within them.
Contributes to the
effective and efficient use of resources. Including safe use, checking, maintenance
and storage of equipment.
Works collaboratively with
the Discharge Planning and Medically Optimised Teams in relation to complex
