Job summary
Applications
are invited for the role of Application Support Officer within the West Suffolk
NHS Foundation Trust Digital Services Department supporting e-Care and other
key digital systems. The post-holder will be responsible for the day to day
support, administration and maintenance of the Trusts key systems.
The
post holder must have good communication and interpersonal skills and must be
able to demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision and to
prioritise their own workload. A key aspect of this role is to work in close
liaison with all staff groups from across the Trust to ensure systems are used
correctly and support business processes.
Qualified
to degree level or with an equivalent amount of experience, the successful
candidate will ideally have experience of working with e-Care or another
Electronic Patient Records system.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will be required to investigate and resolve IT issues logged by
users using their previous knowledge of an EPR system in a calm and clear
manner. This will include assisting users
with training in correct workflow but also fixing issues and logging with the
system suppliers, if necessary.
The
post holder will be required to work on their own and have a good deal of accuracy
and attention to detail when completing daily data quality tasks.
A
passion to learn new IT systems and updates to the existing systems will be
required from the postholder.

KEY TASKS:
1.
Work
closely with all members of the Digital Services Department and communicate
with all staff groups within the Trust.
2.
Liaise
with external consultants and suppliers in respect of technical issues.
3.
Liaise
with suppliers for the turnaround and resolution of any support queries raised
ensuring they are logged and tracked appropriately.
4.
Discuss
complex IT data/issues with other members of the Digital Services Department
and third party support staff to identify and resolve problems
5.
Provide
specialist training to members of the Digital Services Department and training
to other staff when required.
6.
Monitor
the system housekeeping activities and ensure timely resolution of any queries
raised by the IT helpdesk that need further investigation.
7.
Ensure
the electronic communications database is up to date and transmit any failed
discharge summaries and letters.
8.
Create
and update Standard Operating Procedures to ensure correct use of the system
ensuring all staff groups adhere to them.
9.
Investigate
any reported cases of system misuse or data inaccuracy and recommend actions to
resolve.
10.
Use
the Digital Services Departments call logging system to report system issues.
11.
Feedback
user requests, staff changes and training needs to Digital Services.
12.
Modify
existing user security access and create new user accounts in the relevant
systems ensuring correct access roles are given.
13.
Ensure
good data quality and regularly liaise with the relevant teams.
14.
To
assist with system testing in relation to upgrades and system changes.
15.
Assist
in creation and maintenance of user guides for new developments.
16.
Create
and maintain an accurate change log for application changes
17.
Attend
meetings as appropriate.

Conduct
other system administration activities as required.
