Job summary
The successful applicant will assist and support clinicians in the delivery of high quality, individualised, dignified and compassionate care to patients in an outpatient setting. Contributing to the effective running of the department by concentrating on tasks that directly support the needs of the patient and assists their journey, prioritising on patients as required.
To work under the supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner at all times, working within the parameters of their competence, communicating and documenting appropriate and relevant information to other members of the multidisciplinary team in a professional timely manner. The ability to work to a high standard at all times, influencing and role modelling patient centred care. This is a relatively new role within the department and we will strive to provide the opportunity to evolve this role to other aspects of diabetes nursing over time.
Main duties of the job
To assist in clinics, to support clinicians to ensure clinics are running effectively and provide quality care for our patients
Assist patients with mobility needs
To present self to patients, visitors in a pleasant and professional manner
Have full understanding of the patients optimum level of mobility and to assist with movement of patients through different care settings
Assist patients where necessary to achieve physical comfort
To aid patient during their time in outpatients, demonstrating awareness of each individuals privacy.
Contribute the day to day running of the department and support the needs of the patient journey
Undertake observations in clinic and chaperone
Ensure clinic paperwork is completed correctly
Support on reception as and when required
