Job summary
A vacancy for a Consultant Radiologist has arisen at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. The vacancy is part time, to cover maternity leave. The contact is fixed term to cover maternity leave up to February 2024.
The post holder will join the other 18 Consultant Radiologists in providing a comprehensive radiology service to patients in West Suffolk and its environs. All Consultants undertake general radiology including CT, MR, ultrasound, and plain film reporting. All Radiologists have specialist interests and support the relevant multidisciplinary teams.
The job is for a General Cross-sectional Radiologist with Subspecialist interest in breast radiology. Appropriate clinical skills and knowledge will be expected.
The breast imaging team encompasses the full 4 tier skill mix thus supporting learning and development opportunities at all levels. The team includes four Consultant Radiologists, two Consultant Radiographers, one Advanced Practitioner (training to become Consultant Radiographer), Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
The successful candidate will have a special interest in breast imaging and will be expected to participate fully in the local breast screening programme and symptomatic breast service. Approximately 4 PAs will be dedicated to this work. The remaining time will be SPA (1.5 PAs) and time in the general department (2.5 PAs). There is the opportunity for the applicant to join the on call rota, which would equate to an additional 1 PA.
