Job summary

Pharmacy technicians are vital members of the pharmacy team and play an important role in the day to day management of medicines for all patients in today's NHS.

We are looking for positive, supportive, reliable and trustworthy individuals with a genuine passion for patient care to join us in a rewarding role within a fast-paced working environment as an apprentice Pharmacy Technician. You will be part of a friendly supportive team, consisting of Pharmacists, Technicians and Assistants, and have access to a range of employee benefits and be given education and training to support your apprenticeship which once complete will allow for registration with the GPhC (Regulatory body for Pharmacies) and start you in a Pharmacy career with many rewarding and varied pathways.

The apprenticeship course curriculum will be delivered by the UEA and will be covered in a mix of work based learning and academic study days. Based over 4 learning modules this apprenticeship will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and skill set necessary for you to optimise patients' use of medications, communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals, make a safe supply of medications and provide safe and effective person-centred care.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship in Pharmacy Technician Practice will enable you to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Please also note- applicants will also be required to sit a short aptitude test if offered the opportunity to interview.

Essential criteria:

  • 4 GCSE's grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent qualification) including, Mathematics, English Language, Science and one other.
  • Expected to deal with members of the public and other health care workers in a professional manner.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties.
  • Ability to work in an organised and calm fashion in a busy environment
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment and understanding of the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect appropriate to their individual needs.
  • Show professional attitude and demeanour including courteous interaction with team members, managers, other staff members and patients.
  • Proactive attitude towards learning.
